Radisson Blu Mall of America

Radisson Blu Mall of America

Project Details:

Location: Bloomington, MN

Contract Type: Design-Build

Owner: Carlson Rezidor

The Radisson Blu Mall of America stands 13 stories tall with 570,000 square feet of floor featuring 500 hotel rooms, main ballroom, jr. ballroom, full-service food service bar and restaurant, connectivity to the Mall of America, MOA tenant relocations, and a parking ramp. The guest rooms are heated by a central boiler room and cooled by air-cooled chillers. A dry cooler was installed for free cooling during the cooler months (thus allowing the chillers to take a break). The public space is heated and cooled through DX cooling and gas heat through roof top units with electric heat variable air volume boxes. The plumbing fixtures throughout the job, both public and guest room, are a European-contemporary design and are low flow fixtures to comply with the 20 percent water use reduction prerequisite required for LEED.
